A new mobile phone company launched in Jersey on 13 September 2006 – the first of two companies set to launch in competition to Jersey Telecom.
This is the 2007 phone book – the first to be launched since Cable and Wireless launched their mobile service – the first to include the phone numbers of competitors customers.
As you can see Jersey Telecom has 19 pages of mobile phone numbers (numbers starting 07797) and Sure, labelled as Cable and Wireless has just 21 numbers (starting 07700).
I’m not sure what the reason for this is – the cut off date for submitting data seems to be the 28 November 2006 – that would have given Sure two months to submit customer numbers.
So either Sure have very few customers, most customers are ex-directory or someone screwed up in getting the data to the JT in time.
